Privacy Policy for KSP2 Redux
Effective date: April 24, 2026
Last updated: April 24, 2026
KSP2 Redux (“Redux”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a community-created modification for Kerbal Space Program 2.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Redux processes, how it is used, and what choices users have when using optional online features such as Discord Rich Presence, bug reporting, and analytics.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to KSP2 Redux and its optional online features.
It does not apply to Kerbal Space Program 2 itself, Discord, GitHub, GitLab, forum platforms, Reddit, or other third-party services. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Who Operates Redux
Operator: KSP2 Redux community contributors

- Project website: http://ksp2redux.org
3. Information We Process
Redux itself is primarily a client-side mod. Most features work locally on your device. Some optional features may send data to third-party services or to infrastructure operated for Redux.
A. Discord Rich Presence
If Discord Rich Presence is enabled, Redux may send limited activity information to Discord so that Discord can display your in-game status.
This may include:
- current game activity or status text
- scene or gameplay context
- vessel or location information, if included by the feature
- timestamps or other presence metadata needed for Rich Presence
Redux does not need to operate its own backend for basic Discord Rich Presence if the integration communicates directly with Discord.
For Discord’s handling of data, see: https://discord.com/privacy
B. Bug Reports
If you choose to submit a bug report through Redux, Redux may send:
- the report title
- the text you enter into the report form
- your chosen contact information, such as a username or handle on a platform like Discord, GitHub, forums, or Reddit
- file attachments you choose to include
- automatically generated attachments, where enabled, such as:
- screenshots
- log files
- save-game data
Bug reports may contain personal data or other sensitive information depending on what you type or attach. Please review bug reports before submitting them.
C. Analytics / Telemetry
If analytics are enabled, Redux may send limited telemetry to help us understand usage and improve stability.
This may include:
- Redux version
- game version
- operating system or platform
- high-level feature usage
- periodic heartbeat or session pings
- crash or error counters
- a randomly generated installation identifier (UUID)
The UUID is used to estimate unique installations or players over time. It is not intended to directly identify your real-world identity, but it may still be considered personal data under some privacy laws because it can distinguish one installation from another.
D. Local Storage
Redux may store settings and feature preferences locally on your device, including settings related to:
- Rich Presence
- bug reporting UI state
- analytics preferences
- the random installation UUID used for telemetry, if analytics are enabled
4. How We Use Information
We use information only for the following purposes:
- to provide optional features you enable
- to display Discord Rich Presence
- to receive and process bug reports
- to reproduce, investigate, and fix bugs
- to measure aggregate usage and estimate unique installations
- to improve performance, stability, and feature prioritization
- to operate, secure, and maintain Redux-related services
5. Legal Bases
Where applicable privacy laws require a legal basis, we generally rely on:
- consent, for optional features you enable, such as Rich Presence, bug reporting, or analytics
- legitimate interests, for maintaining, securing, and improving Redux and related services
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share data only as needed with:
- Discord, if Rich Presence is enabled
- our hosting or infrastructure providers, to operate telemetry or bug reporting services
- issue tracking or project management platforms, if bug reports are turned into issues or tickets
- service providers that help us run Redux-related infrastructure
- legal authorities, if required by law
7. Server Logs and Network Metadata
When Redux sends telemetry or bug reports to our servers, our hosting providers may process standard technical metadata such as:
- IP address
- request time
- request path
- error logs
- user agent or similar network metadata
We use this information for security, abuse prevention, debugging, and service operation.
8. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above.
Typical retention may include:
- bug reports and attachments: until the issue is resolved, no longer relevant, or deleted upon request where appropriate
- telemetry data: only as long as needed for aggregate analytics, stability review, and trend analysis
- local settings and UUIDs: until you delete them, reset the mod’s local data, or uninstall Redux
9. Your Choices
You may be able to:
- disable Discord Rich Presence
- choose not to submit bug reports
- choose not to attach screenshots, logs, or save files
- disable analytics or telemetry, if provided as a setting
- uninstall Redux at any time
If you contact us, you may also request deletion of information you submitted to us, subject to technical and legal limitations.
10. Children
Redux is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through Redux-specific services.
11. International Transfers
If our infrastructure, maintainers, or service providers are located in different countries, your information may be processed outside your country of residence.
12. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information processed through Redux-related services. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at the same public URL with a new “Last updated” date.
